Loop 101 overnight lane restrictions near McKellips Road start next week (Dec. 1)

ADOT’s freeway-widening project continues in East Valley

  

The Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) improvement project continues next week in the East Valley. No full freeway closures will be scheduled during the holiday season (through January 5). Lane restrictions will be limited to overnight hours. Loop 101 will be narrowed to two lanes in either direction overnight at McKellips Road beginning Monday, Dec. 1, while crews widen the freeway bridge by adding new concrete girders.

 

• Southbound Loop 101 narrowed to two lanes overnight at McKellips Road from 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 2) for bridge girder placement. McKellips Road closed in both directions at the Loop 101 bridge. The Loop 101 ramps at McKellips Road will remain open with only right turns allowed overnight.
• Northbound Loop 101 narrowed to two lanes overnight at McKellips Road from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 3) and from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 4). Northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at McKellips closed. McKellips Road closed in both directions at the Loop 101 bridge. DETOUR: Northbound Loop 101 divers can exit at McDowell Road. Drivers on eastbound McKellips Road can travel north on Hayden Road and east on McDowell Road to access northbound Loop 101. Drivers on westbound McKellips Road can travel north on Alma School Road or 92nd Street to westbound McDowell to access northbound Loop 101.
• Northbound Loop 101 narrowed to two lanes overnight at McKellips Road from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday (Dec. 5). Northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at McKellips Road closed. DETOUR: Consider using McDowell Road as alternate route to access northbound Loop 101.
