US 93 paving project north of Kingman begins late August
Delays, intermittent lane closures through early November
KINGMAN - The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin repaving US 93 from Grandview Avenue in downtown Kingman to Ranch Road (north of Kingman near So-Hi Estates) in late August to create a smoother roadway for travelers.
The project will include repaving 7.5 miles of US 93 along the north and southbound lanes, repaving the traffic interchange ramps on State Route 68 north of Kingman, and installing new curb and sidewalk on Beale Street. The paving is scheduled to be complete in October. Permanent lane striping will be applied in November. Drivers heading to and from Las Vegas along US 93 should expect delays and plan on extra travel time.
Preliminary work is under way. The north and southbound lanes of US 93 at the Johnson Wash Bridge will be restricted through Aug. 22 as crews remove and replace the existing bridge railing.
Paving will begin north of Kingman from So-Hi Estates to the SR 68 traffic interchange the week of Aug. 21, and will include the Coyote Pass section. This work will take place 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Paving on US 93 in downtown Kingman and the SR 68 traffic interchange ramps is expected to begin late August, and be complete mid-September. This work will take place 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
While access to all businesses within the project limits will be maintained at all times during construction, motorists should expect delays and intermittent lane closures.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, proceed through the work zone with caution, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
