Portions of Loop 303 and Cotton Lane Close through Fall 2014
Another new way to access Interstate 10 in the Goodyear area will be available for drivers this weekend. ADOT plans to open the new westbound I-10 on-ramp and eastbound off-ramp at Citrus Road on Sunday (August 26). The new ramps are part of an ongoing ADOT project to build a freeway-to-freeway interchange that will link Loop 303 and Interstate 10 by fall 2014.
Two additional I-10 ramps recently opened at Sarival Avenue in July, providing an eastbound on-ramp and westbound off-ramp. The new on-and-off ramps at Sarival Avenue and Citrus Road will set the stage for the permanent closing of the I-10 on-and-off-ramps at Cotton Lane and partial closure of Cotton Lane (both close on Sunday, Aug. 26) and Loop 303 (closing in early September) through fall 2014 that allow crews to continue work on the Loop 303/I-10 interchange (see attached map).
Drivers should plan ahead and expect delays as construction intensifies in Goodyear at the Loop 303/I-10. The following upcoming closures/restrictions are scheduled:
-
Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between Cotton Lane and Perryville Road from 9 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday (Aug. 24).
-
Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane overnight between Perryville Road and Cotton Lane from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Saturday (August 25) and from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (August 26). DETOUR: Drivers should allow extra travel time and be prepared to merge safely in overnight work zone.
-
Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between Cotton Lane and Perryville Road from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (August 26). Westbound I-10 on-and off-ramps at Cotton Lane closed. DETOUR: Consider using westbound on-ramp at Jackrabbit Trail and westbound off-ramp at Sarival Avenue.
-
Southbound Loop 303 closed between Indian School Road and McDowell Road from 11 p.m. Sunday to 3 a.m. Monday (August 27). DETOUR: Drivers can use Citrus Road.
When the $134 million Loop 303/I-10 interchange project in Goodyear is completed, I-10 access to Cotton Lane will be restored via frontage roads stretching between Sarival Avenue and Citrus Road. ADOT is working on a series of ongoing projects that will modernize Loop 303 into a six-lane freeway between I-10 and Grand Avenue by late 2014. To help the community visualize the Loop 303/I-10 Interchange prior to its completion in fall 2014, ADOT has launched a virtual drive of the Loop 303/I-10 interchange: www.azdot.gov/loop303.
