State Route 51 Update

Sign rehabilitation project work continues on State Route 51 early next week
Overnight off-ramp restrictions between 32nd Street and Bell Road scheduled 

Early next week crews will continue work on the State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) sign rehabilitation project focusing on off-ramps between 32nd Street and Bell Road. When completed, the new and improved signs will be easier to read and more reflective at night. Drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:

  • Northbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) off-ramps at 32nd Street, Shea Boulevard and Thunderbird Road restricted from 10 p.m. Monday (Aug. 27) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 28).
  • Southbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) off-ramp at Bell Road restricted from 10 p.m. Monday (Aug. 27) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 28).
  • Northbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) off-ramps at 32nd Street, Shea Boulevard and Thunderbird Road restricted from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 28) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 29).
  • Southbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) off-ramp at Bell Road restricted from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 28) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 29).
