Bridge work continues on Interstate 10 near Texas Canyon, east of Benson next week

The Arizona Department of Transportation will be closing lanes on eastbound and westbound Interstate 10 in Cochise County as work continues to repave a 14-mile segment between the east end of Texas Canyon and the east side of Benson.

What to Expect at Milepost 309

  • The left lane on eastbound I-10 is closed for three quarters of a mile at Adams Peak Wash through Friday, Aug. 17, for bridge work.
  • The left lane on westbound I-10 is closed for three quarters of a mile at Adams Peak Wash continuously through Friday, Aug. 17, for bridge work.
  •  Posted speed limits will be 55 mph and message boards will notify motorists of the restrictions in advance.

The work also includes repairs at the westbound rest area in Texas Canyon, which will remain closed until Sept. 2012, and construction of a new bridge barrier wall at Adams Peak Wash, milepost 309.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
