State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) Update

Installation of new signage requires State Route 51 restrictions this weekend (July 27-29)
Northbound closed between Shea Boulevard and Bell Road 

This weekend crews will continue work on replacing sign panels along northbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) between Northern Avenue and Bell Road. When completed, the new and improved signs will be easier to read and more reflective at night. Drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:

• Northbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) narrowed to one lane between Northern Avenue and Shea Boulevard from 11 p.m. Friday (July 27) to 3 p.m. Saturday (July 28).
• Northbound State Route 51 32nd Street off-ramp closed from 11 p.m. Friday (July 27) to 3 p.m. Saturday (July 28). DETOUR: Exit at Shea Boulevard to access 32nd Street.
• Northbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) closed between Shea Boulevard and Bell Road from 10 p.m. Saturday (July 28) to 3 p.m. Sunday (July 29). DETOUR: Take Shea Boulevard east to Tatum Boulevard north to Bell Road west to access northbound SR 51.
