I-10 Val Vista to Earley Road Widening Update

Arizona Department of Transportation
I-10 Update

Overnight construction work continues on Interstate 10 near Casa Grande this week
Drivers asked to plan ahead when traveling on I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson

As work continues on the I-10 widening project near Casa Grande, drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:

  • Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane in both directions between Val Vista and Earley roads nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday (March 12) through Thursday (March 15) for widening project. Work is scheduled to be completed by 6 a.m. Friday morning (March 16).

Construction on this I-10 widening project began in January 2011. Once completed in late 2012, I-10 will be widened from two to three lanes in each direction between Val Vista and Earley roads. Road improvements will also be made at McCartney Road and Florence Boulevard traffic interchanges, as well as repaving Val Vista Road, Cottonwood Lane, and Earley Road overpasses.

The construction schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, material availability and mechanical difficulties. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through or near work zones with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
