A portion of State Route 143 (SR 143) will be closed this weekend and next week as ADOT continues making improvements for motorists and travelers headed into and out of Sky Harbor International Airport. Travelers should plan extra time when traveling to the airport via State Route 143 due to the following closures:
SR 143 southbound closed between McDowell Road and University Drive for bridge construction. Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) ramp to SR 143 southbound also closed. To access Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Loop 202 drivers can use 44th Street southbound to Sky Harbor Boulevard. To access SR 143 southbound at University Drive use 44th Street.
9 p.m. Friday (Jan. 20) – 6 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 21)
9 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 24) – 6 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 25)
Northbound State Route 143/48th Street closed nightly between Broadway Road and University Drive for Southwest Gas utility work. DETOUR: Use 40th or 52nd streets to University Drive.
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday night (Jan. 23) - Friday morning (Jan. 27)
10 p.m. Friday (Jan. 27) - 6 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 28)
