The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers on the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following restrictions are scheduled to be in place during the week of June 24:
Pima Freeway, from State Route 51 to 56th Street
- The eastbound Pima Freeway will be closed between State Route 51 and 56th Street from 10 p.m. Friday, June 28, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 1.
- The northbound State Route 51 ramps – both general-purpose and HOV – to eastbound Pima Freeway will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, June 28, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 1.
- The eastbound Pima Freeway on-ramps at Cave Creek Road and Tatum Boulevard will also be closed during this time.
Scottsdale Road at the Pima Freeway

The eastbound Pima Freeway on-ramp at Scottsdale Road will be closed for 60 days beginning 9 p.m. Monday, June 24. The eastbound freeway auxiliary lane at Scottsdale Road will also be closed for 60 days in conjunction with the ramp closure.
- The westbound Pima Freeway off-ramp and westbound freeway auxiliary lane at Scottsdale Road closed through August.
Hayden Road at the Pima Freeway

The eastbound Pima Freeway off-ramp at Hayden Road will be closed for 60 days beginning 9 p.m. Monday, June 24. The eastbound freeway auxiliary lane at Scottsdale Road will also be closed for 60 days in conjunction with the ramp closure.
- The westbound Pima Freeway on-ramp and the westbound freeway auxiliary lane at Hayden Road closed through August.
15th Avenue at the Pima Freeway
- The eastbound Pima Freeway frontage road between 17th and 15th avenues continues to be restricted to one lane weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through July 19.
- The westbound Pima Freeway frontage road between 15th and 17th avenues will be restricted to one lane daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28.
Seventh Street at the Pima Freeway
- Seventh Street will be closed in both directions between the Pima Freeway frontage roads from 10 p.m. Friday, June 28, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 1.
- The north-and southbound Seventh Street left-turn bays to the east-and westbound Pima Freeway reduced to one lane throughout construction of the Seventh Street bridge.
Cave Creek Road at the Pima Freeway
- The westbound Pima Freeway off-ramp at Cave Creek Road will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. Monday, June 24, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 25.
- The southbound Cave Creek Road left-turn bay to the eastbound Pima Freeway on-ramp will be reduced to one lane overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, June 24, through the morning of Wednesday, June 26.
56th Street at the Pima Freeway
- The north- and southbound 56th Street left-turn bays to the east- and westbound Pima Freeway reduced to one lane through construction of the 56th Street bridge.
Pima Freeway, from Scottsdale to Hayden roads
- The eastbound Pima Freeway will be restricted to three lanes between Scottsdale and Hayden roads from:
- 9 p.m. Monday, June 24, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 25
- 9 p.m. Thursday, June 27, to 5 a.m. Friday, June 28
- 10 p.m. Friday, June 28, to 5 a.m. Saturday, June 29
Scheduled Upcoming Closures
15th Avenue at the Pima Freeway
- 15th Avenue will be closed to north- and southbound traffic at the Pima Freeway from Monday, July 1, through late 2020 to reconstruct the 15th Avenue bridge.
32nd Street at the Pima Freeway
- 32nd Street will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at the Pima Freeway – between Mohawk Lane and Tonopah Drive – from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, and Wednesday, July 3.
Tatum Boulevard at the Pima Freeway
- The westbound Pima Freeway on-ramp at Tatum Boulevard will be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, and Wednesday, July 3.
- The northbound Tatum Boulevard left-turn bay to the westbound Pima Freeway will be reduced to one lane daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, July 1, through Wednesday, July 3.
Scottsdale Road at the Pima Freeway
- North-and southbound Scottsdale Road will be closed between Mayo Boulevard and the westbound Pima Freeway frontage road from 9 p.m. Monday, July 1, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, and from 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 3.
Closures are planned to continue each weekend through the summer on a segment of Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) between I-17 and Princess Drive/Pima Road as work continues on the widening project. Drivers should plan ahead and visit ADOT’s website for upcoming weekend travel restrictions before using the freeway for weekend travel.
