Plan for overnight lane closures on eastbound Interstate 10 near Sacaton June 23-24

Reminder: Westbound I-10 fully closed this weekend south of metro-Phoenix area

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who use Interstate 10 between Phoenix and the Casa Grande area to plan for closures and restrictions in both directions this weekend and to allow plenty of extra travel time.

Motorists should expect an overnight lane closure on eastbound Interstate 10 near Sacaton Sunday, June 23, and Monday, June 24.

  • Eastbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane between Casa Blanca Road and State Route 387 (milepost 176 to 186) for crack sealing. The lane restrictions are scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday and from 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 25. ADOT advises drivers to allow extra time as delays are possible.  All ramps will remain open.
  • ADOT reminds drivers that westbound I-10 is scheduled to be closed between Queen Creek Road and Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for sign structure work.

The restrictions and closures are necessary so crews can do construction work in conjunction with the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway Project and to complete maintenance on I-10 south of the Valley to help protect and extend the life of the pavement.

Please proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
