Plan for SR 74 lane restrictions May 13-22

Expect delays, consider alternate routes or postpone travel while work is underway

Motorists who use State Route 74 in Morristown, Peoria, Phoenix and Maricopa County should plan for delays from Monday, May 13, to Wednesday, May 22, U.S. 60 and Interstate 17.  The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for restrictions and slow travel while crews apply a “fog-seal” that will help extend the life of the SR74 pavement:

What to expect:

  • SR 74 will be narrowed to one lane only, in 2-mile sections, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each work day.  A pilot car will guide alternating lanes of traffic through the work zone and flaggers will be on site.  Allow extra travel time and expect slow travel.
  • Monday, May 13 – Work is scheduled to be between milepost 0 (U.S. 60) and milepost 6
  •    Tuesday, May 14 – Work is scheduled to be between milepost 6 and milepost 12
  • Wednesday, May 15 – Work is scheduled to be between milepost 12 and milepost 18
  • Monday, May 20 – Work is scheduled to be between milepost 18 and milepost 24
  •  Tuesday, May 21 – Work is scheduled to be between milepost 24 and mile 30.67 (I-17)
  • Wednesday, May 22 – Lanes will be reduced as needed.

ADOT reminds motorists to use caution around construction personnel and equipment, slow down and be prepared to merge into the open travel lane.
