Three-week lane restriction on US 60 from Wenden to Aguila scheduled to begin Tuesday, April 16

Drivers should plan ahead for delays up to 30 minutes while roadway is reduced to one lane only

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for three weeks of lane restrictions and significant delays on US 60 from the town of Wenden to the town of Aguila beginning Tuesday, April 16, at 3 a.m.

Crews are scheduled to repave the roadway from Wenden Hillside Drive (milepost 62) to north 531st Avenue (milepost 82) during daytime hours. Drivers could experience delays up to 30 minutes while US 60 is reduced to one lane only.

This work is part of a pavement and bridge improvement project on US 60 between Wenden and Aguila.

Drivers should plan for the following restriction scheduled to be in place:

  • US 60 will be reduced to one lane only, with east-and westbound traffic alternating through the open lane, from 3 a.m. to  7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for the next three weeks..
  • Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.

A 12-foot-vehicle-width restriction will be in place.

Delays are likely, so travelers should allow extra travel time. Drivers should obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
