Utility work scheduled along State Route 72 between Parker and Hope Wednesday
Drivers should expect minor delays and allow extra travel time
A local utility company is working on a project along State Route 72 near McVay Road which is located between Parker and Hope in coordination with the Arizona Department of Transportation. As they work to upgrade transmission lines in the area, construction crews will need to intermittently stop traffic on SR 72 Wednesday (Dec. 21) between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
What to expect during work hours:
- The speed limit will reduced to 25 mph near milepost 42 at McVay Road.
- Workers will temporarily stop traffic while crews work alongside the road.
Signs and message boards will be displayed to inform drivers of restrictions. Law enforcement will be on site to monitor traffic and control speeds.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
