Work on a project to improve safety and traffic flow on Interstate 10 is scheduled to continue this weekend, requiring full closures of eastbound travel lanes near Goodyear and Avondale. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow extra travel time or use alternate routes while these closures are in place:
- Eastbound I-10 will be closed at Perryville Road and the eastbound Jackrabbit Trail on-ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, to noon Saturday, Nov. 3. Detour: Eastbound drivers will use the Perryville Road off- and on-ramps to exit and re-enter I-10.
- Eastbound I-10 will be closed at Citrus Avenue from 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, to noon Sunday, Nov. 4. Also: The north- and southbound Loop 303 connecting ramps to eastbound I-10 will be closed, and the eastbound Perryville Road on-ramp will be closed. Detours:
- Eastbound I-10 drivers will exit at Citrus Road and use the eastbound frontage road before re-entering I-10 at Sarival Avenue.
- Southbound Loop 303 drivers can access eastbound I-10 by exiting at Thomas Road and using southbound Cotton Lane to eastbound McDowell Road and southbound Sarival Avenue. Drivers on northbound Loop 303 (south of I-10) can detour to the eastbound I-10 frontage road and enter I-10 at Sarival Avenue.
- ADOT is upgrading the Freeway Management System (FMS) on 5 miles of Interstate 10 between Perryville Road and Bullard Avenue. Learn more about this project and its many benefits on the project web page.
