Travel Alert: Loop 303 closed in both directions beginning late Friday (Sept. 21)

West Valley drivers should plan for delays and use alternate routes

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the full closure of Loop 303 from just south of Interstate 10 to the Happy Valley Parkway exit between 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

All I-10 ramps to northbound and southbound Loop 303 also will be closed, as will all traffic interchanges along Loop 303 in the work zone.

The closure is necessary for ADOT crews to do pavement-preservation work between the cities of Goodyear and Peoria. Sections of Loop 303 are scheduled to reopen to traffic in stages on Saturday as work along the freeway progresses.

Alternate routes for non-commercial vehicles:

  • Northbound local traffic between I-10 and US 60 (Grand Avenue) will be routed to Sarival Road.
  • Southbound local traffic between US 60 and I-10 will be routed to Cotton Lane.
  • Northbound local traffic between US 60 and Happy Valley Parkway will be routed to 99th Avenue.
  • Drivers can also use Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) or Interstate 17 (Black Canyon Freeway).

Attention commercial vehicles:

  • Heavy commercial vehicles must use Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) or I-17 as alternate north-south routes.
