Paving will restrict State Route 88 to a single lane beginning Tuesday, Sept. 11

Drivers should plan for delays and allow for extra travel time

Arizona Department of Transportation maintenance crews will be paving on State Route 88 between mileposts 197 and 203, within the city of Apache Junction and Tonto National Forest land, starting Tuesday, Sept. 11, and continuing weekdays until Friday, Sept. 21. While paving occurs, the roadway will be narrowed to one lane only. Flagging crews and a pilot vehicle will be used to guide traffic through the work zone one direction at a time.

Paving will occur daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and from 5 a.m. to noon on Fridays. No restrictions are scheduled to be in place during weekends.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
