The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers in the
southeast Valley to plan for weekend closures of the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) as
a $4 million improvement project continues. The following closures are
scheduled to be in place from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, to 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug.
4:
- Eastbound Loop 202 will be closed at Hawes Road.
- The eastbound Loop 202
on-ramp at Hawes Road will be closed.
- The westbound State Route 24 connecting ramp to eastbound Loop
202 will be closed.
Drivers who need to access Loop 202 should consider
using southbound Hawes Road to eastbound Ray Road to northbound Ellsworth Road
to westbound Elliot Road.
The following closures are scheduled to be in place from 10 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 4, to 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5:
- Eastbound Loop 202 will be closed at Power Road.
- The eastbound Loop 202
on-ramp at Power Road will be closed.
Consider using northbound Power Road to eastbound Elliot Road or
southbound Power Road to eastbound Ray Road to northbound Hawes Road to access
Loop 202.
ADOT is upgrading the Freeway Management System on the Loop 202
between Ray and Broadway roads. Learn more about the cameras, signs and other
infrastructure being installed to improve traffic flow and safety by visiting
the project web page. Work began in July 2017 and
is scheduled for completion this fall.
