Lane Restrictions planned on Historic Route 66 between Pinnacle Street and Woodlands Village Boulevard through August

Permit work is scheduled Monday, July 23, through Friday, August 31

Drivers should plan for roadway restrictions on a small section of Historic Route 66 between Pinnacle Street and Woodlands Village Boulevard in Flagstaff from the end of July through August.  The Arizona Department of Transportation has issued a permit to widen both sides of Historic Route 66 to construct two additional travel lanes in each direction between Milton Road and Woodlands Village Boulevard.  This project will also add a new left turn lane from westbound Historic Route 66 onto southbound Woodlands Village Boulevard.

Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time as lane closures in both directions will be in place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday, July 23, through Friday, August 31.  One travel lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

What to expect:

Construction will occur Monday through Thursday, with lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Access to businesses in the area will be maintained at all times with at least one open driveway to each business.
