Planned Interstate 10 improvements including new travel
lanes in the Buckeye area will be discussed at a public information meeting
Thursday evening, June 21.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will host the
meeting at the Coyote Branch Library in Buckeye to provide information and
receive comments about an upcoming scheduled project to add a third lane in
both directions along I-10 between Verrado Way and State Route 85. Improvements
to the I-10 interchanges at Miller and Watson roads also are planned.
The meeting is scheduled as follows:
When: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21 (formal
presentation at 6:15 p.m.)
Where: Coyote Branch Library, 21699 W. Yuma Road,
Suite 116, Buckeye
Who: ADOT staff will answer questions and accept
public comments about the planned I-10 improvements between Verrado Way and
SR 85.
As part of the Maricopa Association of Governments’
Regional Transportation Plan approved by Maricopa County voters in 2004, the
I-10 improvement project between Verrado Way and SR 85 is scheduled for
construction starting in 2020.
To help manage traffic growth in coming years, diverging
diamond or conventional diamond designs are being considered for improvements
at the I-10 interchanges at Miller and Watson roads.
Those who can’t attend Thursday’s meeting can submit
comments by July 23 via email to projects@azdot.gov
or via mail to: ADOT Community Relations, ATTN: I-10: SR 85 to Verrado Way,
