Paving of I-10 ramps at Mescal Road/J-Six Ranch Road exit in Cochise County scheduled next week
The Arizona Department of Transportation will pave Interstate 10 ramps at the Mescal Road and Empirita Road interchanges in Cochise County next week.
The following restrictions will be in effect next week during the work at Exit 297 on I-10:

The westbound on- and off-ramps at Mescal/J-Six Ranch will be closed to traffic on Monday, April 11 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. During this restriction, motorists can use the eastbound ramps to and from Exit 297 to take eastbound I-10 to State Route 90 (Exit 302) and return to westbound I-10.

The eastbound on-and off-ramps at Mescal/J-Six Ranch will be closed Tuesday, April 12 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. During this restriction, motorists can take westbound I-10 to Empirita Road (Exit 292) and return to westbound I-10.

On Wednesday, April 13, ADOT crews will pave the Mescal Road/J-Six Ranch Road bridge over I-10 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. During this work, alternating lane closures will be in effect and crews will direct traffic through the paving area.

The westbound on- and off-ramps will be closed at Empirita Road (Exit 292) on Thursday (April 14) from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. During this restriction, motorists can use eastbound I-10 to travel to Mescal/J-Six (Exit 297) and return to westbound I-10.

The eastbound on- and off-ramps will be closed at Empirita Road on Friday (April 15) from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. During this restriction, motorists can use westbound I-10 to go to Marsh Station Road (Exit 291) and return to eastbound I-10.
The work is part of a $15.1 million project to improve approximately 17 miles of I-10 in both directions between Tucson and Benson and replace the westbound I-10 bridge spanning Davidson Canyon, located 20 miles east of Tucson.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
