UPDATE: I-10 ramp closures at Mescal Road/J-Six Ranch exit continue next week
Westbound I-10 to close at SR 90 Tuesday night through early Wednesday
Ramp closures will continue next week on Interstate 10 east of Tucson while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues work on a project to improve the interstate between the junctions of State Route 83 and State Route 90.
Motorists traveling between Tucson and Benson will encounter the following restrictions:
-
The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Mescal Road/J-Six Ranch (Exit 297) will be closed on Monday (March 21) from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. During this closure, eastbound I-10 motorists can continue to State Route 90 (Exit 302) and return to westbound I-10 to access Mescal/J-Six.
-
The westbound I-10 on ramp from Mescal/J-Six (Exit 297) will be closed Monday (March 21) from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. This work had been scheduled for later in the week. During this closure, motorists using Mescal/J-Six to access westbound I-10 can take eastbound I-10 to Empirita Road (Exit 292) and return to westbound I-10.
-
Westbound I-10 will be closed at the junction of State Route 90 (Exit 302) from 9 p.m. on Tuesday (March 22) until 5 a.m. Wednesday (March 23). This full closure of westbound I-10 will allow ADOT crews to set girders on the Davidson Canyon Bridge, located 20 miles east of Tucson. During this closure, westbound I-10 traffic will be detoured onto SR 90 to State Route 82 and State Route 83 to return to westbound I-10 at Exit 281 east of Tucson.
The work is part of a $15.1 million project to repave approximately 17 miles of I-10 between Tucson and Benson and replace the westbound I-10 bridge at Davidson Canyon.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
