Temporary ramp closures on Interstate 10 at Vicksburg Road (Exit 45)

Motorists advised to plan for delays of up to 15 minutes east of Quartzsite

Crews are nearing completion of paving an 11-mile stretch of Interstate 10 east of Quartzsite, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers should prepare for intermittent ramp closures at Vicksburg Road (Exit 45) tomorrow, (Oct. 28) between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Crews are scheduled to temporarily close ramps as follows:

  • The westbound off-ramp is scheduled to be restricted between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • The westbound on-ramp is scheduled to be restricted between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • The eastbound on-ramp is scheduled to be restricted between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Crews are currently working on a project to remove and replace the pavement on I-10 in La Paz County (mileposts 41-52). Drivers should prepare for three mile lane restrictions weekdays in both directions within the project limits. Delays of up to 15 minutes are likely. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph through the work zone. Law enforcement is on-site to assist with traffic control.

The project is anticipated to be completed in early 2016.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
