Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) Improvement Project

 

The Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) improvement project in the East Valley will require the following closures or lane restrictions. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following freeway restrictions are in place:

 

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) off-ramp at Dobson Road closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday (July 22) to 4:30 a.m. Thursday (July 23) for widening project.

 

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to two lanes between Alma School and Dobson roads from 10 p.m. Wednesday (July 22) to 4:30 a.m. Thursday (July 23) for widening project.

 

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on-ramp at Dobson Road closed from 11:30 p.m. Wednesday (July 22) to 3 a.m. Thursday (July 23) for widening project.

 

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) off-ramp at Country Club Drive closed from 11:30 p.m. Thursday (July 23) to 4:30 a.m. Friday (July 23) for widening project.

 

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) closed between Alma School and Gilbert roads from 10 p.m. Friday (July 24) to 8 p.m. Saturday (July 25) for sign installation. Southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound Loop 202 and northbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound Loop 202 also closed.

 

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) High Occupancy Vehicle lane closed between Gilbert and Alma School roads from 10 p.m. Friday (July 24) to 8 p.m. Saturday (July 25) for sign installation.

 

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to one lane between Center Street and Country Club Drive from 7 p.m. Saturday (July 25) to 4:30 a.m. Sunday (July 26) for paving.

 

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) off-ramp at Country Club Drive closed from 7 p.m. Saturday (July 25) to 4:30 a.m. Sunday (July 26) for paving.

 

McKellips Road closed at Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) from 6 p.m. Sunday (July 26) to 4:30 a.m. Monday (July 27) for bridge work.

 

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to two lanes between Country Club Drive and Alma School Road from 10 p.m. Monday (July 27) to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday (July 28) for paving.

 

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on-ramp at Country Club Drive closed from 10 p.m. Monday (July 27) to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday (July 28) for paving.

 

ADOT works to inform the public about planned freeway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. The Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) improvement project is adding one new general travel lane in each direction between Loop 101 and Gilbert Road and one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction between Gilbert and Broadway roads.
