Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine Authorized for Ages 6-11 and Ages 12+
The CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has voted to recommend the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for a primary series for children 6 years through 17 years of age. No Moderna COVID-19 vaccine booster doses have been approved yet for these age groups.

Moderna ages 6-11 years
The Moderna ages 6-11 COVID-19 vaccine (NDC 80777-0275-99) is now available for ordering in ASIIS.
The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine vial is labeled “BOOSTER DOSES ONLY”, however, it is also authorized for primary series doses (0.5 mL each) for individuals 6 through 11 years of age. This presentation of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is supplied as 5 dose multi-dose vials with dark blue caps and labels with a purple border [NDC 80777-0275-99].

Healthy children 6 years through 11 years old: A two-dose primary series of 50 mcg (0.5 mL) each dose, given at least 4- 8 weeks apart.

Immunocompromised 6 years through 11 years of age: A three-dose primary series of 50 mcg (0.5 mL) each dose, given at 4 weeks between doses 1 and 2 and at least 4 weeks between doses 2 and 3.
Moderna ages 12 years and older

Providers may now use the Moderna NDC 80777-0273-99 (red cap and a label with a light blue border) product down to age 12 years. |

Healthy persons 12 years and older: A two-dose primary series of 100 mcg (0.5 mL) each dose, given at least 4-8 weeks apart.

Immunocompromised 12 years and older: A three-dose primary series of 100 mcg (0.5mL) each dose, given at 4 weeks between doses 1 and 2 and at least 4 weeks between doses 2 and 3.
The storage and handling guidelines for both products will follow what we are familiar with:
- Storage in a standard freezer (check the Moderna website for the expiration date)
- Refrigerator storage for up to 30 days if the vial is unpunctured
- Does not require dilution
