COVID-19 Vaccine Expiration Dates

2019 AIPO

COVID-19 Vaccine Expiration Dates

When receiving COVID-19 vaccines in ASIIS, providers must update the expiration date. ASIIS may show a default expiration date of 12/31/2069 or an expiration date based on storing the doses in the cold storage unit which would give the doses the longest expiration date which may NOT be correct. In order to properly track inventory and ensure expired doses are never administered to patients it is imperative that the expiration date is updated when receiving the doses. Expiration dates will vary for each COVID-19 vaccine based on where they are stored. Please review the below information and resources to guarantee that you are entering the correct expiration date for all COVID-19 doses.

**Additionally, as of 4/13/2022 Pfizer Tris (Orange and Gray Cap) COVID-19 vaccines have been granted a shelf life extension for an additional 3 months when stored in an ultra low temp freezer for a total of 12 months**
