Service interruption - Thanksgiving

Recycle Collection

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, all city offices are closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27. City libraries will also close on Saturday, Nov. 28.

There will be no trash or recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day. Thursday’s service moves to Friday, and Friday’s service moves to Saturday. Please have your containers on the street by 5 a.m. on your collection day.

Here are a few reminders while preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday:

  • Never pour grease down the drain since it can clog sewer lines
  • You can drop off used cooking oil as household hazardous waste at Public Works by calling 623-349-6802

Recycle Triangle

Recycle right

Recycling around the world is changing.  In Buckeye, we continue to require the same recycling activities.

To help make your recycling count, only recycle clean material, and only recycle these items:

  • Bottles (plastic and glass)
  • Cans (drink and food)
  • Paper and cardboard

Other items, even if they have the universal recycle triangle, should not be recycled.

Remember to always leave your recycle cart closed to avoid spills.  Only put recycling in the can, never on the ground next to it.

Bulk Trash

Bulk Trash

Buckeye is growing!

All homes in Buckeye receive once per quarter bulk trash collection.  To keep up with the expansion, an updated bulk schedule is under construction.

The first quarter 2021 bulk pick-up schedule is complete and has been posted on our website and individualized calendar.

The schedule for rest of 2021 is forthcoming and will be published as soon as it becomes available

Overflowing trashcan

Oops - shut your lid

Sometimes residents have larger items that don't fit into the trash can, and they don't want to wait until quarterly bulk collection.  This is common during the holiday season.  Don't forget about the Southwest Regional Landfill. Find out more about the SWRL here.

Trash collection failure - open container photo:  Overloaded trash cans will cause a trash spill and slow collection for other residents.  Cans that are too overloaded might not receive service.

If material does not fit into a trash or recycle can, it must be cut to fit.  Boxes should be broken down, and all trash bagged.  Recycling should not be bagged.
