Dear Educator:
I would like to extend a special
invitation to you and your school to participate in the Arkansas Young Voter
Workshop, offered as a single day workshop March 6-8, 2018.
The day long workshop, open to
high school students, will include numerous activities that are interactive and
will emphasize the modern election process, the importance of voting, and the
day will end with a debate in which students have the chance to voice their
opinions on current events and issues. The workshop is very interactive and
there will be times that your students will be working with others from
different schools, please make sure that the students you have selected are
comfortable with participating in groups of new people. There will be a few activities
that an internet capable device would be helpful; therefore if available please
allow your students to bring them the day of your workshop.
We invite your school to bring a
delegation of ten or fewer to
the capital city to participate in our Young Voter Workshop. We would like to have the opportunity for as
many schools and students to participate as possible, so please limit your
delegations to only ten students. If there are openings left for the day you
are attending, we will allow extra students from already registered schools to
attend. Thank you in advance for understanding!
Specific dates are set aside for
groups from each congressional district. Activities will begin at 10:00 a.m.,
the Secretary of State’s office will provide a pizza lunch and students will be
dismissed at 2:00 p.m. An optional tour
of the State Capitol will be offered at the end of the workshop.
Please fill out the registration
form, save the document and email it by Friday February 23, 2018 to Katie Bass,
our Education and Visitor Services Specialist, at katie.bass@sos.arkansas.gov. Upon receiving your school’s registration form, a confirmation email
will be sent with further information and instructions for the day of your

All Arkansas Secretary of State
