ARREST RELEASE

Derrick Lawrence Guinn, 29

Fort Smith, AR - On Sunday, May 3, Fort Smith Police arrested 29-year-old Derrick Lawrence Guinn of Barling on warrants for First-Degree Murder and Attempted Murder in connection to a shooting incident that occurred in the 900 block of Holly Street on Saturday, May 2. One adult male was pronounced deceased in the incident, while one juvenile male suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Guinn is in custody at FSPD Headquarters and will be transported to the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center later today. We would like to thank the public as well as our partners at the Sebastian County Prosecutor's Office, Arkansas State Police, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, LeFlore County Sheriff's Office, and Pocola Police Department for their assistance.
