SENTENCING UPDATE
Fort Smith Man Sentenced to 110 Years Following Investigation into Multiple Sex Offenses
Fort Smith, AR - Ladaryl M. Lankford, 46, has been sentenced to 110 years in prison.
Earlier this week, Lankford entered a guilty plea to a series of serious felony charges involving the abuse of a victim who was a minor at the time of the offenses. The plea included five counts of Second-Degree Sexual Assault and one count of Introducing a Controlled Substance into the Body of Another for a Sex Offense.
For these specific crimes, the sentences have been ordered to run consecutively—meaning they will be served one after the other—resulting in a total term of 110 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.
Additionally, the defendant received a 15-year Suspended Imposition of Sentence (SIS) regarding the controlled substance charge, which serves as a probationary period following the prison term.
In addition to the primary sentence, the defendant also pled guilty to Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and Video Voyeurism. While these charges carried sentences of 20 years and 6 years respectively, the court ordered them to run concurrently with the other sentences.
This means they will be served at the same time as the 110-year term and do not add additional time to the total sentence.
Lankford was arrested by Fort Smith Police in April of 2025 following a monthlong investigation.
We would like to thank the Sebastian County Prosecutor's Office and United States Marshals Service for their assistance on this case. We are especially grateful to the victim who had the courage to come forward.
If you or someone you know is a victim of sexual violence, we encourage you to contact law enforcement and reach out to supportive services.
