Next week, Fort Smith Police officers will join agencies across Arkansas for the State Distracted Driving Mobilization. During this enforcement period, officers will be conducting traffic stops focused on distracted driving violations to help keep our roads safe.

Distracted driving isn’t just about texting — it includes anything that takes your eyes off the road, hands off the wheel, or mind off driving. Even a few seconds of distraction can have devastating consequences.

📵 Texting while driving is illegal in Arkansas.
💬 Taking your attention off the road for just 5 seconds at 55 mph is like driving the length of a football field blindfolded.

Our goal isn’t to write tickets — it’s to save lives. Please do your part:
