COMMUNITY NOTICE
Fort Smith Police Department to Temporarily Suspend Online Incident Reporting During Technology Upgrade
Fort Smith, Ark. — The Fort Smith Police Department is transitioning to a new Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS), ProPhoenix, to better serve our community and improve efficiency across the department.
As part of this upgrade, the ability for citizens to file certain reports online—such as extra patrol requests, accident reports, and offense reporting—will be temporarily suspended beginning Monday, Sept. 8, 2025.
This pause will remain in place until the ProPhoenix Citizens Service Page is fully operational. During this time:
-
Online records requests will still be available through the City of Fort Smith’s GovQA portal.
-
In-person reporting will remain available 24/7 at the Fort Smith Police Department, 100 S. 10th Street.
-
Citizens may also continue to contact our non-emergency number at (479) 709-5000 for assistance.
“We’re excited about what ProPhoenix will bring to our department and the community,” said Chief Danny Baker. “This upgrade will give us a more modern, integrated system that improves our responsiveness and record-keeping. We appreciate the public’s patience while we make this important transition.”
The department will provide updates on when online reporting services are restored.
