SHOOTING INCIDENT
Fort Smith Police Make Third Arrest, Add Additional Charges in Connection to Overnight Shooting That Left Woman Critically Injured
Fort Smith, AR - At approximately 11:06 PM on Sunday, June 15, the Fort Smith Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 4700 block of Zero Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. A 33-year-old male, who had placed the 911 call, was also on scene with a vehicle showing multiple bullet holes on the passenger side.
Following an investigation, detectives identified 36-year-old Anthony Don Nichols and 27-year-old Austin Lee Williams, both parolees, as suspects in the incident.
On Monday morning at approximately 10 AM, the Fort Smith Police SWAT team executed a search warrant at an address in the 1500 block of South 17th Street. Both Nichols and Williams were taken into custody without further incident.
Williams now faces two charges:

Battery in the First Degree - Firearm (Class B Felony)

Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Class D Felony)
Nichols has been charged with:

Battery in the First Degree - Firearm (Class B Felony)

Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Class D Felony)

Drug-related offenses unrelated to the shooting
Additionally, 35-year-old Katie Magness was arrested for Hindering Apprehension (Class C Felony) in connection with this case.
