SCAM ALERT

MULTIPLE TEXTS ALLEGING TO BE FROM DMV ARE FRAUDULENT

Fort Smith, AR – The Fort Smith Police Department is issuing a public alert regarding an incident that has come to our attention through multiple resident contacts.

The below text message was sent to several in our area on Friday, June 6. The message claims to be from the DMV. After contacting that agency to confirm, we can assure you these messages are fraudulent and should be reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation at their IC3.gov Internet Crime Complaint Center.

Please do not respond to the message or exchange any funds or personal information with the sender. Additionally, you may wish to report the message to your data provider and delete it from your device. Thank you.
