Tactical Response to Subject at South Albert Pike / Rogers Avenue

Fort Smith, AR - The Fort Smith Police Department is currently engaged in an active response to a standoff involving an armed subject near the intersection of South Albert Pike and Rogers Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 4:30 AM following reports of an individual believed to be armed and barricaded. Upon arrival, officers established a perimeter and began working to ensure the safety of nearby residents and motorists.

The situation remains active at this time. We are asking the public to avoid the area while officers continue working toward a safe resolution.
