SEPT. 11 HIT-AND-RUN UPDATE

Suspect Arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Serious Injury Accident

Fort Smith, AR — The Fort Smith Police Department has arrested Jadyn Elizabeth Jones, 18, on charges of Failure to Yield with Injury and Leaving the Scene of a Serious Injury Accident (a felony). Jones was identified as the driver of a gray GMC Acadia involved in a collision with a motorcycle on Sept. 11 that caused serious injuries to the driver.

Following an interview with detectives, Jones was taken into custody on Monday, Oct. 21. The investigation remains ongoing.

The Fort Smith Police Department would like to thank the public, especially the victim, for their patience while this investigation proceeded. More information may be released when available and appropriate.
