Fort Smith Police Department Excels at Inaugural Jonesboro Police Motorcycle Rodeo
Fort Smith, AR - The Fort Smith Police Department is proud to announce the outstanding performance of its Motorcycle Officers at the inaugural Police Motorcycle Rodeo hosted by the Jonesboro Police Department and the Arkansas Municipal Police Association.
The rodeo was held on June 29. Officers Casey Cagle, Jerrod Davidson, Jonathan Ritter, and Jens Sorensen, showcased their exceptional riding skills and dedication, securing top positions in every event.
The rodeo featured three individual challenges: Solo Runs, Team Runs, and Slow Ride, with participants competing for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies in each category, as well as the coveted title of Overall Winner.
The final results for Fort Smith Police Department Motor Officers were as follows:

These accomplishments not only highlight the skill and dedication of our officers but also reinforce the positive representation of the Fort Smith Police Department. Patrol Special Operations Captain Steven Creek commended the officers for building strong relationships with other departments, engaging positively with event attendees, and taking the opportunity to enhance their riding skills, which are critical for their daily duties.
Captain Creek noted, "These officers have demonstrated their expertise and have returned with a renewed confidence in their abilities. Their success is a testament to our department's commitment to excellence and community safety. We are grateful for the opportunity and would also like to commend the Jonesboro Police Department for hosting us and putting on the event."
The officers' achievements at the rodeo are a significant boost to our department-wide recruiting efforts, showcasing our capabilities and the effectiveness of our newly created Traffic Unit. The event provided a platform for our Motor Officers to display their gear, equipment, and skills to fellow officers and motorcycle enthusiasts from across the state.
Chief of Police Danny Baker expressed his pride in the officers, stating, "I am very proud of these officers, their accomplishments at the rodeo, and their daily commitment to excellence. They have represented us and our community in an exemplary manner."
