FSPD's Weekly Siren Test a Success: Previously Malfunctioning Alarms Now Operational

Fort Smith, AR - The Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD) conducted its weekly test of the city's emergency siren system on April 24, 2024.

During this testing, five sirens that were previously identified with functional issues on April 17 proved successful. To further secure the reliability of the siren system, the FSPD will be continuing weekly tests, with the next slated for May 1, 2024, weather permitting.

This proactive strategy is integral to our mission to safeguard Fort Smith residents, ensuring that the sirens perform effectively in critical times. If there are any remaining concerns about a tornado siren in your area, please notify us at 479-709-5000.
