Fort Smith Police Department Enhancing Public Safety with Camera Trailer Deployment for the Upcoming Total Solar Eclipse
Fort Smith, AR – In preparation for the highly anticipated total solar eclipse on April 8, the Fort Smith Police Department has deployed multiple high-tech camera trailers at key locations throughout the city.
These units will provide the FSPD with real-time monitoring capabilities, enabling swift response to any incident and ensuring the well-being of both residents and visitors during this significant astronomical event. The camera trailers will be positioned to oversee the increased traffic and large gatherings expected during the eclipse. They also will serve as a deterrent to crime, and an investigative tool, should the need arise.
As we welcome tourists and astronomy enthusiasts, the Fort Smith Police Department reminds everyone to be vigilant, follow safety guidelines for eclipse viewing, and respect local laws and property. We are looking forward to enjoying a safe and memorable experience with all of you, residents and visitors alike. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Public Affairs Office at 479-709-5000 or by emailing info@fortsmithpd.org. Thank you.
