SAFE HOLIDAY DRIVING TIPS

Fort Smith, AR - DECEMBER 22, 2023, Tis the season for joy and festivities! As you venture through the city during this holiday shopping season, here’s a quick reminder to keep the holiday spirit alive by driving safely.

1. Plan your shopping route out ahead of time and allow extra time due to the influx of increased traffic on the roadway.

2. Remember, not to turn left across busy lanes of traffic to avoid unnecessary congestion at intersections. You may have to turn right and find an alternate route to your next destination.

2. Refrain from blocking intersections during red lights to keep them clear and ensure everyone can move safely.

3. Stay alert of your surroundings while driving and be mindful of distractions that could result in a collision.

4. Drive defensively by allowing impatient and aggressive drivers to pass by so you can remain in control of congested situations.
