Alabama State Lands Division Seeks Laborer
CLASSIFICATION: Laborer – 90101
LOCATION: Based in Montgomery, Alabama, position will travel statewide
STATUS: FULL-TIME
SALARY: Full-time starts at $729.10, semi-monthly (Equivalent to $8.41/hour, $17,498/year)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Alabama State Lands Division Recreational Trails Crew is currently accepting applications for employment for a laborer position. This is an entry level state job with a beautiful view and outside fresh air. The position responsibilities will include maintenance of multiple state hiking, biking, horseback, and canoe trails. Maintenance of multiple state facilities is also part of the position requirements. This includes lawn maintenance, light carpentry work, building maintenance, and trail construction/cleanup. Heavy lifting and manual labor are expected. Work with small power equipment (trimmers, lawnmower, chainsaw) is expected. Applicants will also be expected to pull trailers with light loads.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate
NOTES:
- Salary is based on a 40-hour work week.
- Compensatory time off is awarded for any overtime worked. Paid overtime is not available.
- Work is closely supervised, yet individual is expected to work independently as directed.
- A CDL is not required but applicants must possess a valid drivers license.
- This position requires extensive overnight travel to locations throughout the state.
- Travel will be reimbursed on a per diem basis.
