What an honor it is to serve the public! The #AlabamaStateParks earned even more tripadvisor accolades this year. 12 Certificate of Excellence awards and 9 Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame awards makes us all happy campers. We are so proud that our park visitors have noticed and spoken up about our dedication to providing positive Park experiences. Kudos to all of our staff! Check out this video to see why DeSoto State Park made the Hall of Fame.

Don't forget to purchase a new Alabama State Parks car tag in 2018. Last names that begin with the letters M and I renew during the month of June. Last names names that begin with P and L renew in July. This is a new form of much needed revenue for us. Yet another great reason why the Amendment 2 victory was so important to us. Now, this money stays where it belongs-at the parks. Watch the video.

Starting April 1st, all boat owners are be able to purchase a State Park boat registration. Follow the same procedures for past registration, just simply ask for the #AlabamaStateParks decal. Like the car tag, this is a new form of much needed revenue for us.

The #AlabamaStateParks are proud to be a partner of the #100ALMiles Challenge. Be Active, Go Explore, & Connect with others through the 100 Alabama Miles Challenge at 100alabamamiles.org. Have you heard the buzz about the new Chef and restaurant staff at Cheaha State Park? Please help us welcome Chef Jessie Killingsworth as he plans and prepares the menu at the Vista Cliffside Restaurant. Chef Jessie arrives with a background and education in the culinary arts. We are excited about this addition to Team Cheaha. Make your plans for a wonderful meal with spectacular views from above.

Don't forget Dad this Sunday. Whether he likes to hike and bike or eat a good meal and relax, the #AlabamaStateParks have you covered. Make your plans to enjoy the Sunday buffet at all of our park restaurants.

Calling all Kids! Does the idea of being a Park Ranger sound good to you. Check out these Junior Ranger classes at Gulf State Park. Classes are weekly from June 8th to July 27th (Excluding July 6th). For Girls and Boys Ages 11 to 14.

Summer is here and the #AlabamaStateParks are full of special events. Visit the events sections of alapark.com to keep up with our current events. Don't forget about Great Outdoors Day at Wind Creek State Park and Dr. Bob McLaughlin Day at Blue Springs State Park. Make your plans.

In 2016 we created the Dirt Pass Trail Crew. This program is a way to voluntarily donate $35 per year to help support our efforts to improve our trail system. Your money goes directly to the maintenance, enhancement and planning of the Alabama State Parks trails system. Dirt Pass membership donations are processed online and each donating Dirt Pass member will receive a cool, new Trail Crew t-shirt to show your pride in our program. Become a member today!

Dropping nature knowledge is one of the most enjoyable aspects of what we do. With so much hustle and bustle these days it's great to see young faces in our parks learning. Our partnership with the Alabama Wildlife Center and the Interpretive Center inside Oak Mountain State Park allows us to reach those younger audiences. Check out this cool video.
