You now have an option of purchasing an Alabama State Parks car tag. Last names that begin with A and D renew their tags this month. Last names that begin with the letter B renew in February. The renewal process remains the same; simply request an Alabama State Parks car tag during the renewal procedure and 80% of your money will go directly to help fund the State Parks (20% goes to normal administrative fees).Yet another great reason why the Amendment 2 victory was so important to us. Now, this money stays where it belongs-at the parks. Thank you Park supporters!

Take advantage of our Winter Special offering a 25% discount on all overnight accommodations Sunday - Thursday at select parks. This is our way of saying thank you for helping us win the Amendment 2 vote, allowing us to keep our revenue. You can now take comfort knowing your money spent inside the parks will stay where it belongs - at the parks.

We realize the importance of the trails to our park friends. Whether you like to hike, bike or run, our trail system provides great access to nature. We have created a user friendly interactive map and other detailed map files for those interested in planning your next trip to an Alabama State Park. Join our Dirt Pass Trails Team to help support our trails program.

Eagle Awareness Weekends are back at Lake Guntersville State Park. Lasting until February 19th this annual birding event features great seminars and field trips.

Military veterans are important to us. We appreciate and support all of the men and women who have served to provide all of us with the freedoms that we enjoy today. We implemented a successful Veterans donation program last year at the Gulf State Park Pier and are working to develop a system-wide program. Stay tuned for more information about this program.

Join us at Lakepoint State Park for "Fins, Feathers & Flowers", a weekend of waterfowl and wildlife, Feb. 24th - 26th. From check-in to check-out this weekend package will be loaded with speakers, field trips and wildlife programs.

Attention all you photo bugs!! Check out the annual "Focus on Nature" weekend workshop at Joe Wheeler State Park. This is a great event with informative lessons taught by professionals that will help you improve all of your camera skills.
