The National Park Service turns 100 on August 25, 2016, and everyone can take part in the celebration. A tremendous amount of history and freedoms are provided through our National Park system. If you can't visit these national treasures then do the next best thing and visit a state park.     

Thanks to those that participated in our Parks car tag survey. The money generated from the car tag sales is now more important then ever because of Amendment 2. Please take this survey related to Amendment 2 on the November ballot.

Have you heard about our voluntary Dirt Pass Trails Team Program? Over the last decade the trails community has seen steady growth in an area that serves as a gateway activity to the outdoors. This new program provides a means for people to voluntarily financially support this new program.

Join us for Family Fun Day at Rickwood State Park on Saturday, August 27th. After being temporarily closed the park re-opened this Spring with renewed energy from the staff, volunteers and visitors. We look forward to seeing all of our friends as we celebrate with games, crafts, nature programs and guided hikes and tours.

An even bigger thank you goes out to all of our park supporters that visit our parks and understand our current political situation. We ask that you share your knowledge of Amendment 2 with your friends and neighbors so they too can be ambassadors for the parks. Now more than ever we need all Alabamians to know and understand that Amendment 2 will protect the State Parks money.
