Meet our new ACDBE Compliance Specialist II!
"Hi, I’m Amanda Dawson, Compliance Specialist II for the Alaska DOT&PF ACDBE Program. I’ve spent the past 11 years of my career in the world of SB/DBE compliance- from working with state agencies calculating and enforcing SB/DBE goals to working for the general contractor managing SB/DBE compliance for all phases of the contract.
Predominately my experience has come through Design-Build and P3 public works projects in the $600M to $1.4B range in California, Colorado and other US states under FRA, FAA, and FHWA.
When I’m not busy upholding the law, my 4 German Shepherds run the rest of my life. Occasionally my husband and I get to do fun things too. We enjoy wild ice skating, mountain biking, archery, and all the wonderful unique opportunities that come with living in Alaska.
I’m excited to be a part of the Civil Rights Office team and look forward to collaborating with everyone."
Meet our new Research Analyst I.
"Hello, I'm Michael Dupuis (Doo-Pwee), don't worry my name is never pronounced right unless you have a little French background. I'm a born and raised Alaskan, and although I lived outside the state in California and Oregon for 8 years, my wife and I couldn't stay away. Alaska has always been home to us and our dogs Brody and Jules, and we have never been happier since moving back 3 years ago. After doing a significant amount of traveling I truly believe Alaska is one of the most beautiful places in the world and there is no where I would rather be.
My previous career of over a decade focused on business management. This is where I've had the luck of experiencing different types of management styles and businesses which also allowed me to develop expertise in a large range of skillsets. This also showed me my passion for technology and analytics which is why I went back to school to get my B.S. in Information Technology with a Concentration in Data Analytics.
I've had the pleasure of working for both large and small businesses and doing so has shown me the impact and importance of using technology and analytics to make data driven decisions to better not just the business but also the opportunities, expertise and lives of my co-workers, their families and myself which is my ultimate goal." |
