Seward Highway Avalanche Control Today

Avalanche Closure Notification

There will be intermittent closures for avalanche hazard reduction work today on the Seward Highway in multiple locations:

Bird Point Area (near mileposts 95-100) 2-3pm
Summit Lake Area (near milepost 44) 2-3pm
Kenai Lake Area (near milepost 21) 3-5pm

Motorists should expect delays of up to 20-45 minutes between 2:00PM and 5:00PM.
