Alaska SBDC

Are you running a small business?

The Alaska SBDC is a statewide program funded by the US Small Business Administration and the State of Alaska. In general, SBDC helps small businesses grow via its expanding online resources and business management expertise.

The Alaska SBDC offers three fundamental areas that cover the needs of startups and established businesses:

One-on-one Advising: We offer no-cost, confidential, one-on-one business coaching. Our advisors assist with pre-launch, growth, recovery, buying & selling, funding assistance, and more.

Workshops: We provide free and low-cost business workshops, both as on-demand self-service videos and via live webinars.

Tools: Explore our collection of free documents, spreadsheets and templates that our advisors use on a regular basis.

How to Register for Service

To set up an initial appointment with a Business Advisor, you must first register on our portal. Go to www.aksbdc.org > “Getting Started” > “Sign Up Now”. Your client registration will be sent to the nearest Alaska SBDC for review and your Advisor will be in touch within a few business days to schedule an appointment. Advisors work to meet busy entrepreneurial schedules by working via phone calls, email, and teleconference.

Title IV Update

Title VI

There is good news for the Civil Rights Office for Fiscal Year 2023!

First, the CRO will be creating a Title VI training video for employees statewide. This video will help departments include training during their onboarding.

Other news for the Title VI and ADA program is looking at new technologies for ADA compliance that may be possible through Citian's ADAPT. Citian's ADAPT (Accessibility Design, Assessment, and Planning Tool) software is the world's most powerful ADA planning suite.

It will help achieve full ADA compliance in our jurisdiction with real-time, accurate data, automatic prioritization and cost estimates for asset upgrades, and customizable business intelligence tools to meet our query and reporting needs.

Happy Pride Month!

Happy Pride

Pride Month is observed each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. Celebrations include parades, picnics, parties, workshops, and more.

Throughout Pride Month, we recognize the impact that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.

Summer is officially here!

Hello Summer

Go outside and enjoy the endless Alaskan summer activities but don't forget your sunblock.

Safety Moment

Alaska Driving Tips

It's summer time in Alaska and we know what that means. Motorcycles, RVs, trains, construction, pedestrians, bicyclists and so much more! Before you hook up that new boat or camper, or hit the road with your family or friends in your car, SUV, pickup, or RV, take the time to review these summer travel safety tips.

Prevention and planning may take a little time up front, but will spare you from dealing with the consequences of a breakdown - or worse yet, a highway crash - later.

Alaska Energy Authority

The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is working to develop an Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Deployment Plan as required by the Infrastructure Development and Jobs Act's National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program.

Through the NEVI program, Alaska will receive more than 50 million in federal funding over five years for EV fast-charging across Alaska.
