This is a reminder that the next meeting of the Alaska Health Care Commission will be held this Thursday and Friday (June 23-24) in Anchorage at the Dena'ina Center. This meeting is open to the public, and a teleconference line is available for those members of the public interested in listening to the proceedings and unable to attend in person. A public hearing will be held during the meeting at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23. It is not necessary to pre-register to testify, and testimony will be taken over the phone as well as in person.
A current copy of the agenda is attached. A highlight of this meeting will be a presentation Friday morning on Community Care of North Carolina, a patient-centered medical home program serving Medicaid enrollees in N. Carolina, by Dr. Allen Dobson. Dr. Dobson is president of a large group family medical practice that participates in the Community Care Network, former Assistant Secretary for Health Policy and Medical Assistance for the N.C. state Department of Health & Human Services, and former Director of the Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program.
Following Dr. Dobson's presentation and discussion with the Commission, a panel of Alaskan health care providers and administrators who are currently actively working to transition their practices to a medical home model will share their experience and insights.
The location of the meeting and teleconference number are listed at the top of the attached agenda. Please let me know if you have any questions about this meeting or the work of the Alaska Health Care Commission.
Thank you,
Deb
