QAP & PSS approval reminder
Alaska Department of Health sent this bulletin at 12/16/2021 09:56 AM AKSTDear Alaska Medicaid Provider,
The Division of Behavioral Health would like to remind providers that individual Qualified Addiction Professionals (QAP) and Peer Support Specialist (PSS) provisional departmental approvals expire after 90 days. This expiration date is noted on page one of the approval letters. Be advised, if that date has passed and you still wish to provide 1115 SUD waiver services, you will need to submit a new application.
The application can be found here https://dhss.alaska.gov/dbh/Pages/Resources/Medicaidrelated.aspx at the bottom of the page.
At this time, we ask each agency that has received provisional approval letters for individuals within your group to move forward with enrolling and affiliating the individuals, so they do not lose time to attain their certification. If the individual has left employment or will not be providing the services as initially thought, then no action is required, and the current approval letter will expire.
If you have any additional questions, please email MPASSunit@alaska.gov.
*Providers, please forward this message to staff you would link Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Email or Text Update you would like to self-register for DBH Communications messages.
