AKAIMS Guidance Update 6/23/2021

Dear Behavioral Health Provider Community,

As many of you are aware, due to the cyberattack on the Department of Health and Social Service, Alaska’s Automated Information Management System (AKAIMS), is currently not available. On May 18, 2021, the State of Alaska, Department of Health and Social Services issued a press release which identified the dhss.alaska.gov website as the target of a cyberattack.

The Division has created a temporary website http://dhss.alaska.gov/dbh/pages/default.aspx).  On this website you will find a list of services that are available and links to forms that BH providers can use while our current website is down. 

There are forms from the Behavioral Health Quality Assurance Forms for Quarterly Reports, Grantee Incident Reports and Checklists for FY21 Grant Reporting.

The MPASS forms include:

• 1115 BH administrative services standards & administrative procedures manual
• 1115 SUD administrative services standards & administrative procedures manual
• 1115 SUD and BH chart of services
• State plan chart of services
• Autism chart of services
• LCSW chart of services
• LMFT chart of services
• Alaska Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility rates
• State plan department approval application
• 1115 BH department approval application
• 1115 SUD department approval application
• 1115 individual application

There is also a list of current reports that you can request from the AKAIMS helpdesk, which now include:

• GPRA Due Date reports
• Tabular Label Report which contains names, addresses and phone numbers of active clients
• Client Charts where we can access Crisis Intervention/Crisis Stabilization Notes along with some of the other parts of the client record.

Each of the AKAIMS reports on the temporary website above comes with a short description and is an easy tool to direct fellow staff at your organization so they can see what information they can request from the AKAIMS team. We will continue to update the webpage as new reports are developed throughout the week. If you wish to receive any of these reports please contact Sandra Warren at Sandra.warren@alaska.gov or Lisa Good at lisa.good@alaska.gov.  Requests for data should not be emailed if they contain PHI – please call or send by secure email. You may also request a secure email be sent from the helpdesk to you; your response can then be a report request and can include the identifying information needed for this team to extract the correct data. The report can then be securely emailed back.  If you do not see a certain report or form that you need please contact the helpdesk staff and let us know.

Lastly, on the temporary DBH webpage is a link to PDF Fillable forms that are currently available for AKAIMS users to use for documentation until AKAIMS is back online.
