CASE COUNT SUMMARY, Tuesday, July 7, 2020

DHSS today announced one new death and 23 people with COVID-19 in Alaska. 19 are residents in eight communities: Anchorage (11), Wasilla (2), Cordova (1), Eagle River (1), Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (1), Kenai (1), Ketchikan (1) and Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area (1). The total number of Alaska cases is now 1,184.

Four new nonresidents were also identified in:

  • Municipality of Anchorage: 2 unknown industry
  • Kenai Peninsula Borough: 1 tourism industry
  • 1 unknown location and industry

The total number of nonresident cases is now 241.

Of the 19 Alaska residents, nine are male and 10 are female. One is aged 10-19; four are aged 20-29; six are aged 30-39; one is aged 40-49; four are aged 50-59 and three are aged 60-69.

There have been a total of 78 hospitalizations and 17 deaths with four new hospitalizations and one new death reported yesterday. Details about the person who died are not yet available.

Recovered cases now total 560, with eight new recovered cases recorded yesterday. A total of 131,420 tests have been conducted. The average percentage of daily positive tests for the previous three days is 1.19%.
